Client required access to the upper deckhead steelwork of the FPSO tanks to carry out structural steelwork strengthening and coatings applications. Each 22m deep tank would have required the scaffolding to be built from the ridged bottom of the tank up to the deckhead. Access to each tank was through a standard deck hatch of 0.6m x 1.0m. V-Deck™ was 10 times lighter than the scaffold solution. V-Deck™ was suspended and braced by means of an innovative clamp system. All contact points were coated whilst the V-Deck™ was in-situ, resulting in no return work for contact points, resulting in time and cost savings.'
